When we heard the news Tool fans have been longing to hear of an upcoming album we, just like you, were skeptical. However, it seems as though we won’t have to wait 10,000 days, just roughly around 5,000.

Sure, Tool has toured without releasing new music. The band had at least one tour every year from 2009-2016 but this has a different feel. With Maynard’s Tweets, animated teasers, and photos posted from the mastering studio, all signs point to an end of the thirteen year silence.

In addition to playing the festivals Welcome To Rockville and Chicago Open Air Tool has just announced a U.S. headlining tour in May.

5 – Jacksonville, FL – Welcome To Rockville
7 – Birmingham, AL – Legacy Arena at The BCC
8 – Louisville, KY – KFC Yum! Center
10 – Hampton, VA – Hampton Coliseum
11 – Concord, NC – Epicenter Festival
13 – St. Louis, MO – Enterprise Center
14 – Kansas City, MO – Spring Center
16 – Lincoln, NE – Pinnacle Bank Arena
17 – Des Moines, IA – Wells Fargo Arena
19 – Bridgeview, IL – Chicago Open Air Festival

Tickets go on sale this Friday March 15, 2019

Timing is everything and according to Maynard’s tweets regarding the upcoming album’s progress we’re soon to get our fix.

“Midway through mixing. Most likely be a few recalls. Then some arguing. Then Mastering, Artwork, Video, Special Packaging, etc. Best Ballpark Guess- Release date somewhere between Mid May and Mid July. More focused updates to follow as we progress.”
